We are seeking a qualified Solicitor with substantial experience in contract law and practice. This role offers an opportunity to develop and enhance your skills through diverse and quality work.
You will work as part of a team of Contract Lawyers providing legal advice on issues including Public Contract Regulations, Company law, Subsidy Control, NEC and JCT construction contracts, among others. You will manage a varied caseload.
Senior Lawyers will play an active role in team management and may deputise for the Principal Solicitor, contributing to the delivery of legal services.
The ideal candidate is effective, dynamic, experienced in managing and supervising teams, and motivated to work collaboratively.
Shortlisting Criteria
The role is hybrid; remote work will be considered. Occasional office attendance may be required, with the first day involving collecting a laptop from Reigate office.
The role includes managing a team of lawyers, providing leadership, supervision, and legal advice to the County Council, its members, officers, and committees.
The role contributes to the wider management of Legal Services, modeling and embedding the council's values and behaviors.
You will manage a demanding caseload, deliver innovative solutions, and support the council's goal to reduce reliance on external legal support. Advocacy duties may be required.
You will also assist the Monitoring Officer in legal compliance and contribute to staff training within the Council.
