Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a days-based role in the Doncaster area. This temporary contract offers a Monday-to-Friday pattern, with an 8-hour rotating schedule and weekend overtime. Pay ranges from £30-£38 per hour umbrella, with no LTD CO.

You will perform planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance on process and packaging equipment, work with conveyors and materials handling, and support production with fault-finding and CMMS-driven maintenance.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance and temporary engineering
• Manufacturing industry experience in heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered
• Routine preventive maintenance with understanding of a PPM schedule
• Ability to finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively
• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous
• Proactive approach to fault finding and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Provide effective planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
• Keep production running by fault-finding and maintaining process and packaging equipment
• Plan and perform planned and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime
• Work with conveyor systems, hoppers, conveyors and materials handling
• Lead mechanical repairs and work with a CMMS
• Diagnose, resolve and eliminate root causes
• Implement minor equipment modifications to enhance performance
• Complete scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance
• Assist with planning and implementing annual equipment overhauls

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days Monday to Friday - temporary contract

Location: Doncaster area, good A1 AND M18 access

Do you want to come off shifts involving 12 hours? Work a Monday to Friday pattern?

This is an 8-hour rotating pattern offering weekend overtime.

Pay Range: £30-38 per hour umbrella, NO LTD CO

Contract Type: Ongoing weekly temporary contract

Our client has a global presence with strong brand loyalty, a large multi-site manufacturer. This is an established site.

Key Responsibilities

• Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
• Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault-finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment
• Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
• You’ll work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling
• Leading mechanical repair and working with a CMMS
• Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes
• Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance
• Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls
