Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for a days Monday to Friday temporary contract in the Doncaster area. The role focuses on planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to keep production running with emphasis on fault-finding and safe maintenance of conveyors and packaging equipment.

The position involves working with a CMMS, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to annual overhaul planning.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ Level 3 in mechanical engineering maintenance

Responsibilities

• Provide effective planned, preventive and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production.
• Ensure continuous running of production by fault-finding and maintaining process and packaging equipment.
• Plan and perform preventive and reactive maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Work with conveyors, hoppers, conveyors and materials handling systems.
• Lead mechanical repairs and operate a CMMS.
• Diagnose and resolve root causes of faults.
• Implement minor equipment modifications to boost performance.
• Complete scheduled maintenance and improvements as allocated.
• Assist in planning and implementing annual equipment overhauls.

• Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days Monday to Friday - temporary contract


• Location: Doncaster area, good A1 AND M18 access


• Do you want to come off shifts involving 12 hours? Work a Monday to Friday pattern?


• This is an 8-hour rotating pattern offering weekend overtime.


• Pay Range: £30-38 per hour umbrella, NO LTD CO


• Contract Type: Ongoing weekly temporary contract


• Industry: Consumer FMCG Manufacturer, family-owned company

Our client has a global presence with strong brand loyalty, a large multi-site manufacturer. This is an established site.

Key Responsibilities – Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - days monday to friday temporary

• Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production


• Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault-finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment


• Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum


• You'll work with conveyor systems, hoppers, solos, conveyors and materials handling


• Leading mechanical repair and working with a CMMS


• Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes


• Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance


• Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated


• Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls

Qualifications & Requirements – Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Days monday to friday

• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance en temporary gineering


• Manufacturing Industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered


• Routine Preventive Maintenance, so as to have an understanding of a PPM schedule


• Finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively


• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous


• A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
