Job Description:

CONTRACT Manufacturing Engineer

(Must have own umbrella company to comply with IR35)

Process development, manufacturing estimates, tool development with vendors, and continuous improvement efforts. Take a lead role in project teams.

Manage and coordinate the successful (on time and within budget) completion of new product project plans supporting the Design groups.

Support the production team post SOP. Lead operations project teams to meet all project and APQP milestones.

• Work with design departments and outside vendors to specify tooling requirements for new products and improve existing tooling.
• Lead problem-solving activities to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
• Lead design reviews, FMEA, and APQP; suggest modifications for more robust designs and better manufacturability.
• Investigate and suggest process improvements for quality and productivity.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for products and productivity improvements, coordinating with Supply Chain for tooling modifications.
• Project Coordination and Communication:
• Support project management for both ongoing and new projects, ensuring timely delivery.
• Maintain an up-to-date project plan (Gantt chart) with clear responsibilities.
• Oversee tooling supply from concept to production, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality using DFA/DFM tools like Mouldflow, Boothroyd Dewhurst, and NX wizards.
