Job summary

A well-known multi-disciplinary design consultancy seeks an experienced Contract Civil Engineer to support various highway and infrastructure projects. The role is flexible and offers hybrid working, accommodating part-time to full-time hours. Candidates should have a strong background in highway design and experience with S38 & S278 schemes. This position also provides the opportunity to work on high-profile projects over a 6-month contract duration, with a likelihood of extension.

Qualifications

• Strong background in highway design.
• Experience delivering S38 & S278 schemes.
• Knowledge of major highway and infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of National Highways standards.
• Good understanding of DMRB.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

The Opportunity

We’re working with a well-known multi-disciplinary design consultancy who are looking to bring in an experienced Contract Civil Engineer to support a strong pipeline of highway and infrastructure projects.

This is a flexible opportunity offering part-time through to full-time hours, ideal for someone who wants autonomy alongside technically challenging work.

The Role

You’ll be involved in the design and delivery of a range of highway schemes, including:

• S38 & S278 highway design and approvals
• Detailed highway and infrastructure design
• Working on projects aligned with National Highways standards
• Delivering designs in accordance with DMRB
• Supporting major infrastructure and highway schemes
• Liaising with clients, local authorities and key stakeholders

Key Requirements

• Strong background in highway design
