Job summary

The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Consultant Radiologist for a busy, expanding department with sessions at the two main hospital sites within a flexible group job planning format. Candidates may apply for part-time or flexible working arrangements, with an on-call rota core to the role.

Responsibilities include interventional and diagnostic radiology, admin of the Radiology Department, teaching of staff, and participation in clinico-radiological meetings.

Responsibilities

• Duties will include performing vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures for inpatients and outpatients at the main site.
• Develop and maintain advanced clinical skills related to interventional radiology.
• Participate in the general radiology on-call rota (1:24 cross county on call).
• Assist in organisation and administration of the Radiology Department and in teaching junior radiology staff.
• Develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in acutely ill patient management.
• Work flexibly according to changes in work patterns and requirements.
• Contribute to achieving clinical and quality targets with clinical teams and commissioners.
• Follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.
