Job summary

Marshalls Cross Medical Centre, part of Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, is recruiting a Consultant GP in Primary Care to lead a clinical workload for around 6,800 registered patients and to teach FY2 and GP trainees.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, provide a full range of medical services, participate in on-call duties, and contribute to audits, clinical governance and service improvement.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD.
• Participation in management development opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide general medical services to registered patients including face-to-face, remote consultations.
• Assess, diagnose and manage acute and long-term conditions with prescribing, investigations and referrals.
• Take responsibility for own clinical workload and coordinate care with the Trust team.
• Review clinical correspondence, test results and prescribing tasks promptly.
• Contribute to care of patients with long-term conditions and health promotion.
• Work with multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care.
• Take part in on-call rota of about one day per week pro rata.
• Support education and supervision of FY2 and GP trainees.
• Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement and research where possible.
• Contribute to significant event analysis, complaints review and incident learning.
• Support service improvement and performance against targets including QOF and CQC.
• Fulfil safeguarding responsibilities for children and adults at risk.
