Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a Construction Training Lead to own the Trainee Site Manager Development Programme, blending formal training, mentoring and hands-on site exposure across Scotland.

You will work with Construction Managers and project teams to shape individual development plans, coordinate mentors, and ensure trainees gain qualifications while maintaining records and reporting on progress.

Qualifications

• Experience leading trainee/development programmes in construction.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or developing people.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel Scotland.
• Knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
• Experience using digital systems to monitor learning performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Trainee Site Manager Development Programme.
• Create and manage development plans with placements and qualifications.
• Collaborate with Construction Managers to provide learning experiences across projects.
• Coordinate mentors and placement managers for feedback and development.
• Build relationships with professional bodies and training providers to support qualifications.
• Monitor trainee progress, milestones and interventions as needed.
• Visit construction sites across Scotland to observe trainees and gather feedback.
• Translate technical standards into engaging learning content.
• Maintain programme records and report on progress and future workforce needs.
• Continuously enhance the programme to align with business needs.
