Job summary

SP Energy Networks is recruiting a Senior Construction Manager to lead a Construction Unit across West/Central/South regions, based in Cambuslang or Edinburgh Park with regular site travel. You'll manage a team of Construction Managers, oversee pre-construction activities, ensure safety, quality and programme delivery, and coordinate with Project Management, Engineering, Commercial and HSQE teams.

Excellent leadership and stakeholder skills required.

Qualifications

• Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant Construction or Engineering discipline.
• Professional membership (or working towards) with a recognised body such as CIOB, ICE or similar.
• SMSTS (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a Construction Unit, overseeing the planning, coordination and delivery of multiple construction projects.
• Provide direct line management to a team of Construction Managers, with responsibility for coaching, performance, capability development and succession planning.
• Ensure the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of works in line with programme, budget and quality expectations.
• Play an active role in pre-construction activity, including constructability input, programme planning, contractor engagement and risk mitigation.
• Work collaboratively with Project Management, Engineering, Commercial and HSQE teams to ensure seamless end to end delivery.
• Maintain strong oversight of contractor performance, supply chain relationships and stakeholder interfaces.
• Champion health, safety, environmental and quality standards across all site activities.
