Job summary

Vasto Legal Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a leading Legal 500 firm in the City of London to recruit a Construction Solicitor (2-4 PQE). The role offers exposure to both contentious and non-contentious matters, with work across contracts, disputes, and project documents.

You’ll draft and negotiate contracts (standard form and bespoke), perform due diligence on real estate deals, and support on live projects with a mix of collaboration across departments. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• This role would suit a solicitor 2-4 PQE in construction law. You should be comfortable with JCT and NEC contracts (FIDIC is a plus but not essential), a confident drafter, well organised, and able to manage a busy workload without losing attention to detail.
• Just as important is how you work with people — clients, contractors, consultants, lenders — so someone personable and commercially switched-on, not just technically strong.

Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating construction contracts, both standard form and bespoke
• Construction due diligence on real estate, development and finance deals
• Drafting collateral warranties, professional appointments, sub-contracts and other project documents
• Advising on live projects, covering contractual interpretation, risk and dispute avoidance
• Involvement in adjudication, arbitration, litigation and TCC proceedings as they arise
• Working with colleagues in Real Estate, Real Estate Finance, Dispute Resolution and Corporate to give clients joined-up advice
• There’s direct client contact from early on, and the scope to take real ownership of matters rather than just supporting from the sidelines.

Construction Solicitor (2-4 PQE)

A leading Legal 500 firm is growing its Construction team, based in the City, working closely with the partner across a busy and varied caseload.

The team advises on construction matters connected to real estate, development and finance transactions, and the work spans both the contentious and non-contentious sides of the practice. You won't be pigeonholed into one type of work — you'll get involved in contracts, disputes, and everything in between.
