Job summary

JMC Legal Recruitment is seeking a Construction Solicitor with 2+ PQE for a mixed contentious and non-contentious role in London, City. The firm supports hybrid working, with three days from home per week and strong progression opportunities.

You will handle a broad range of construction matters, including contracts, due diligence and risk management, working closely with Partners across real estate, finance and dispute resolution.

Qualifications

• 2+ PQE Construction Solicitor with experience in contentious and non-contentious work.
• Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts; commercially minded and client-focused.
• Ability to handle a broad mix of matters with direct partner involvement.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate construction contracts (JCT/NEC).
• Conduct construction due diligence and manage project documentation.
• Advise on live projects, contractual issues and risk management.
• Support adjudication, arbitration, litigation and TCC matters.
• Maintain direct client contact and manage relationships.
• Collaborate with Real Estate, Finance and Dispute Resolution teams.

Construction Solicitor - 2+ PQE | Top Tier L500 & HNW Chambers Ranked | London, City | Contentious & Non-Contentious matters | Hybrid Working from home 3 days per week

The Firm:

The firm has 100+ fee-earners and around 150 staff, with a strong reputation in the London market. Despite its growth, it has retained a genuinely personable and collaborative culture, with Partners actively involved in the development of junior lawyers.

Progression is a particular strength: 19 people were promoted in the latest appraisal round, including five new Partners, while one solicitor has progressed from NQ to Director within five years.

The Role:

You will handle a broad mix of contentious and non-contentious construction matters, working closely with Partners and advising clients across construction, real estate and development.

The role will include:

• Drafting and negotiating construction contracts, including JCT and NEC.
• Construction due diligence and project documentation.
• Advising on live projects, contractual issues and risk management.
• Supporting adjudication, arbitration, litigation and TCC matters.
• Direct client contact and relationship management.
• Working alongside Real Estate, Finance and Dispute Resolution teams.
