Job summary

Bradford College is seeking a Construction Skills Coach to work with learners, employers and curriculum teams, providing practical guidance, mentoring and workplace support to help learners develop technical, professional and employability skills for progression into employment, apprenticeships and further training.

This fixed-term role (37 hours per week) is part of a government initiative delivered with West Yorkshire Combined Authority to address construction skills shortages and train up to

Qualifications

• Experience in construction industry and mentoring learners.
• Understanding of employability and workforce expectations.
• Ability to work with employers and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of current industry practices and skills needs.

Responsibilities

• Nurture relationships with community settings to develop projects.
• Provide mentoring to learners on work placements and employer-led projects.
• Support learners to develop technical construction skills and workplace behaviours.
• Deliver guidance to help learners transition to employment.
• Motivate learners to achieve placement objectives and career goals.
• Identify support needs and remove barriers to learner success.
• Promote attendance, punctuality, behaviour and professionalism.
• Supervise groups on external projects and provide technical support.
• Ensure safety and report learner progress during placements.
