Job summary

Carmichael UK in the West Midlands is seeking a People Management Trainer to strengthen capability across the business. Based in Walsall, you will travel to additional sites as needed, delivering practical training for managers.

You will design and deliver structured training on performance management, absence handling, and employee relations, ensuring alignment with UK employment law and company policies. This is a hands-on, multi-site role requiring strong coaching credibility and travel

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 qualification required.
• Management or coaching qualification.
• Proven experience in a senior HR operational role.
• Strong people management experience.
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.
• Experience operating in a multi-site or operational environment.
• Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge appropriately.
• Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop a structured people management training framework aligned with company values and needs.
• Identify capability gaps in line management across the company.
• Embed consistent management behaviour and standards by aligning training with policies.
• Design and deliver training on managing underperformance, absence management, and employee relations.
• Coach managers on difficult conversations, feedback, and conflict.
• Deliver practical, scenario-based training relevant to construction.
• Provide HR support across multiple sites with travel and site presence.
• Act as an operational advisor balancing business needs with people risk.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Travel regionally to deliver training as required.
