Job summary

Carmichael are seeking a Trainer to join the team based in Walsall. The ideal candidate will have experience within the construction industry and be willing to travel to additional sites.

The People Management Trainer is responsible for building strong people management capability throughout the Company, equipping managers with the skills and confidence to manage performance, conduct disciplinaries, and handle employee relations issues, including absence management.

Qualifications

• CIPD Level 5 is required.
• Management or coaching qualification preferred.
• Proven experience in a senior HR operational role.
• Strong people management experience.
• Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Develop a structured people management training framework aligned with company values and needs.
• Identify capability gaps in line management across the company.
• Embed consistent management behaviour and standards with policies and procedures.
• Design and deliver training on underperformance, absence management, and employee relations.
• Coach managers on handling sensitive ER cases and difficult conversations.
• Deliver practical, scenario-based training relevant to construction, across sites.
