Job summary

Matchtech is assisting a leading apprenticeship provider in Wythenshawe to recruit a Construction Learning Coach. You will guide 16 to 21-year-old learners through a foundation apprenticeship in on-site trades, covering brickwork, carpentry and plastering.

Responsibilities include delivering practical lessons, managing Level 2 learners, assessing tasks and providing feedback. You will visit employers and support learners as they transition into their first job, contributing to a collaborative

Qualifications

  • Experience in construction or related trades.
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge incl. health and safety regulations.
  • Previous teaching experience in multi-skills/construction.
  • Willingness to work towards a relevant teaching qualification.

  • Coach and inspire apprentices to develop technical knowledge and skills for construction roles.
  • Manage and teach a caseload of Level 2 learners on Foundation Apprenticeship programmes.
  • Deliver engaging lessons on brickwork, plastering and carpentry to classes of ~10.
  • Mark assignments and apprenticeship tasks to ensure progress.
  • Observe practice and provide constructive feedback to drive growth.
  • Visit employers and support apprentices in their workplace to help them enter their first job.
  • Ensure training meets foundation apprenticeship knowledge, skills and behaviours.

Job description

Our client, a leading apprenticeship provider in the construction sector, is currently seeking a dedicated Construction Learning Coach to join their team in Wythenshawe. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to guide 16 to 21-year-old learners through the new foundation apprenticeship in on-site trades, providing them with essential skills in brickwork, carpentry, and plastering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach and inspire apprentices to develop the technical knowledge and skills needed for success in construction roles
  • Manage and teach a caseload of Level 2 learners on Foundation Apprenticeship programmes
  • Deliver engaging lessons on basic brickwork, plastering, and carpentry skills to classes of approximately 10 students
  • Mark assignments and apprenticeship tasks to ensure quality and progress
  • Observe practice and provide constructive feedback to drive growth
  • Visit employers and support apprentices in their workplace to help them settle into their first job role
  • Ensure that the training meets the foundation apprenticeship knowledge, skills, and behaviours
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in construction or related trades
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge, including health and safety regulations, construction techniques, and industry standards
  • Previous teaching experience in multi-skills/construction
  • Hold or be willing to work towards a relevant teaching qualification
  • A genuine passion for developing others and sharing knowledge
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and deliver high-quality teaching/coaching
  • Desirable: Coaching or Assessor qualifications (e.g., TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/33) and knowledge of government-funded training and apprenticeship standards
