Job summary

Quack Recruitment & Training is seeking a Construction Tutor to deliver accredited construction qualifications and prep learners for live site environments in a funded provision. You will ensure health & safety standards, compliance, and robust documentation while driving learner progression.

Experience delivering construction qualifications and a Level 3 teaching qualification is essential, with enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain. The role offers monthly pay and clear KPI targets.

Qualifications

• CAVA/TAQA(Level 3) or equivalent
• AET(Level 3) or equivalent teaching qualification
• Proven occupational competence in Construction (Groundworks / Civils)
• Experience delivering accredited construction qualifications
• Strong knowledge of site health & safety requirements
• Confident with managing groups of adult learners (incl. unemployed cohorts)
• Comfortable with funded provision and compliance frameworks
• Organised and able to maintain accurate documentation
• Enhanced DBS (or willing to obtain)

Responsibilities

• Deliver accredited construction qualifications including CSCS and Level 2 Construction Operations.
• Prepare learners for live site environments beyond exams.
• Embed site standards: health & safety, RAMS, PPE, toolbox talks, workplace behaviours.
• Assess learner competence per awarding body standards (portfolio, observation, professional discussion).
• Maintain audit-ready learner files per ESFA/Combined Authority funding rules.
• Track attendance, progression, and milestone evidence (incl. progression to employment).
• Collaborate with IQA, Compliance, and Progressions teams to ensure quality and outcomes.
• Support learners through CSCS test prep and card applications.
• Maintain structured lesson plans, Schemes of Work, and assessment documentation.
• Meet completion, achievement, and employment KPIs.

Quack Recruitment & Training is hiring a Construction Tutor to deliver Construction and Skills Bootcamp provision aligned to real employer demand.

This is not an entry-level teaching role. If you do not hold a CAVA / TAQA (or equivalent assessor qualification) and proven construction delivery experience, this is not for you.

Responsibilities for the Construction Tutor role will be:

• Deliver accredited construction qualifications including CSCS, Level 2 Construction Operations (Groundworks / Civils), and Retrofit-related provision where required.
• Prepare learners for live site environments – not just exams.
• Embed site standards including health & safety, RAMS awareness, PPE compliance, toolbox talks, and workplace behaviours.
• Assess learner competence in line with awarding body standards (portfolio, observation, professional discussion).
• Maintain audit-ready learner files in line with ESFA / Combined Authority funding rules.
• Track attendance, progress, and milestone evidence (including progression into employment).
• Work closely with IQA, Compliance, and Progressions teams to ensure quality and outcome performance.
• Support learners through CSCS test preparation and card applications.
• Maintain structured lesson plans, schemes of work, and assessment documentation.
• Meet clear completion, achievement, and employment KPIs – outcomes matter here.

Requirements for the Construction Tutor role will be:

• CAVA / TAQA (Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement) or equivalent
• AET (Level 3 Award in Education & Training) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven occupational competence within Construction (Groundworks / Civils / Retrofit preferred).
• Experience delivering accredited construction qualifications.
• Strong working knowledge of site health & safety requirements.
• Confident managing groups of adult learners, including unemployed cohorts.
• Comfortable working within funded provision and compliance frameworks.
• Organised, structured, and capable of maintaining accurate documentation.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable:

• Experience delivering Skills Bootcamps.
• Knowledge of PAS 2035 and retrofit standards.
• Experience supporting learners into sustained employment.
• Assessor and IQA collaboration experience.

Pay for the Construction Tutor role will be:

• £30,000 – £32,000 PA (DOE)
• Performance-related progression linked to quality and outcomes
