Job summary

Corr Recruitment is seeking Construction Operatives in Poole to work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role pays £13.50–£20 per hour depending on experience, with duties covering concrete mixing, pouring, finishing, and site setup.

You will work as part of a team, follow safety procedures, and coordinate with other trades on site. The ideal candidate has concrete or construction site experience, can operate basic tools safely, and is physically fit for manual work.

Qualifications

• Experience with concrete mixing, pouring, compaction and finishing.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual work.
• Reliable, punctual and a team player.
• CSCS card preferred; driving licence required to drive company van.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas and ensure tools, equipment and materials are ready for use.
• Mix, pour, spread, level, compact and finish concrete to required specs.

• Set up and remove formwork, shutters, reinforcement and concrete structures.
• Use vibrating equipment to compact concrete and remove air pockets.
• Carry out concrete finishing: screeding, floats, trowelling and edging.
• Repair and make good concrete surfaces where required.
• Follow drawings, specs and supervisor instructions.
• Maintain a clean and safe working area; report issues to supervisor.

Duties

• Prepare work areas and ensure all tools, equipment, and materials are ready for use
• Mix, pour, spread, level, compact, and finish concrete to the required specifications
• Operate hand tools and equipment used for concrete and construction work
• Assist with setting up and removing formwork, shutters, reinforcement, and concrete structures
• Use vibrating equipment to compact concrete and remove air pockets
• Carry out concrete finishing, including screeding, floating, trowelling, and edging
• Repair and make good concrete surfaces where required
• Follow drawings, specifications, and instructions from supervisors and site management
• Maintain a clean and safe working area throughout the job
• Safely handle and move materials, tools, and equipment
• Work as part of a team and coordinate with other trades on site
• Follow all company health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE
• Report defects, hazards, damaged equipment, or other site issues to the supervisor

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with concrete or on construction sites
• Good understanding of concrete mixing, pouring, compaction, and finishing
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely
• Physically fit and able to undertake manual work
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Good awareness of construction-site health and safety requirements
• Ability to follow instructions and work to deadlines
• CSCS card preferred
• Must hold a valid driving licence - you will be driving a company van
