Job summary

WTW is seeking a Team Leader (Heavy Industry) to lead a six-strong construction insurance team in the UK, responsible for retention and new business development. You will manage client relationships, deliver tailored risk solutions, and ensure profitable outcomes across the portfolio.

The role emphasizes technical insurance knowledge within UK construction, with a track record of high-quality client service and strategic account development.

Qualifications

• Construction insurance experience in UK essential.
• Strong track record in client service.
• Experience in strategic account development.
• Proven new business sales experience and pipeline management.
• Ability to build relationships with clients, insurers and specialists.
• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Adherence to processes and systems for service delivery.
• ACII qualification or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships by understanding their business needs and delivering tailored risk management solutions.
• Identify and maintain relationships with key decision makers and budget holders.
• Provide technical, industry and subject matter expertise, drawing on specialist teams.
• Develop and implement effective solutions, pricing, and placement strategies for new and existing clients.
• Lead team to ensure consistent client service.
• Drive business development by maintaining a pipeline of prospects, responding to RFPs, and delivering presentations.
• Promote cross-selling opportunities and collaborate across the business to maximise account penetration.
• Oversee placement management including revenue optimisation, compliance, data processing, and policy checking.
• Deliver end-to-end client service, ensuring regulatory compliance and profitability targets.
• Monitor KPIs/SLAs, provide process feedback, and support corrective actions.
