Job summary

Knights Construction Group is seeking a commercially focused Buyer to support procurement for industrial, commercial and agricultural construction projects. The role requires hands-on sourcing of cladding, building envelope systems and related materials to meet project programmes and budgets.

You will work with Design, Pre-Construction, Commercial and Project Management teams to improve purchasing efficiency, strengthen supplier relationships and identify value-engineering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven procurement experience within construction industry.
• Experience producing detailed material take-offs from drawings and specifications.
• Strong working knowledge of industrial or agricultural cladding and building envelope systems.
• Confident supplier negotiation skills and understanding of purchasing, cost control and delivery requirements.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with ability to manage competing project priorities.
• Proactive, commercially aware and comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team.
• Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Full, valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate material take-offs using construction drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Source, quantify and procure roof and wall cladding systems, composite panels, single‑skin sheeting, flashings and fabrications, rainwater goods, fixings, sealants and associated materials.
• Plan purchasing and coordinate deliveries to meet project programmes, specifications and budgets.
• Monitor material costs and usage, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve value.
