Job description

Finding solutions to climate change is the priority of the 21st century, and means switching to low-carbon energy. At Assystem, our mission is to accelerate the energy transition worldwide. To achieve this, our 7,500 Switchers combine their historical engineering expertise and project management with digital technologies.

In our 12 countries (Europe, Middle East, Asia) of operation, we are working on the production and distribution of low-carbon electricity, through the development of nuclear and renewable energies. We are also supporting the modernisation and development of energy grids, managing the setup and siting for new transmission and distribution networks, and using hydrogen to decarbonise the transport and industry sectors.

Job Description

Assystem are recruiting for a number of Consents Managers at Consultant and Senior Consultant level to join our growing Environment, Engagement and Consents (ECE) Practice to provide our clients with a range of consent management services for major infrastructure projects. The roles will be based across London, South East and East Anglia and offer a hybrid working pattern with 2-3 days on our clients sites and the rest from home.

As Consents Manager you’ll support many aspects of project development, including supporting and leading internal and external stakeholders in delivering and maintaining the necessary consents in accordance with relevant environmental and planning legislation for various projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Consents Management: Responsibility for supporting or leading the management of consents and approvals for infrastructure projects, which may involve consents application preparation.
  2. Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory requirements, environmental standards, and planning regulations to ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with key project stakeholders and statutory bodies through ongoing engagement to successfully deliver consents.
  4. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of consents, permits, and approvals, and prepare reports (as required by the client) to support project documentation and compliance requirements.
  5. Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate consent requirements into project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  6. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge, provide guidance on consent-related matters, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence.
  7. Team Leadership (Senior Consultant): Lead a team to deliver high-quality outputs and solutions covering a broad range of consents and engagement activities.
