Job description

Consents Manager
£46,000 - £50,000 DOE

We're Ambitious!
That's why we're keen to hear from determined and motivated people like you, to help deliver excellence for our clients and ourselves!

As a Consents Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of consents and permissions required for Energy projects. This role will specifically focus on Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Consents Management.
Are you experienced in securing land rights and managing consents for infrastructure projects? Join our team and play a key role in delivering vital utility projects across the UK.

Here are some of the tasks you'll get involved in:

  1. Lead on securing land and property consents, including wayleaves, easements, leases, access rights, planning permissions, and land purchases.
  2. Support a range of infrastructure works covering underground, overhead, and ground-based installations across private and public land.
  3. Engage with key stakeholders, from landowners and agents to local authorities and external contractors.
  4. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation such as the Electricity Act 1989, planning rules, and land rights regulations.
  5. Manage claims and negotiations, including compensation for access, land use, and statutory notices.
  6. Oversee contractors and consultants who support the delivery of consents and land rights services.
  7. Keep accurate records and reports to support project progress and audit requirements.
  8. Work closely with project teams, including engineers, planners, legal advisors, and environmental consultants.
  9. Help improve internal processes, identifying opportunities to streamline and enhance how we manage consents.

We'd love to hear from you if you can demonstrate:

  1. A background in utilities; electricity, water, gas, or infrastructure sectors.
  2. Proven experience in land rights, such as easements, access permissions, and statutory consents.
  3. Strong stakeholder skills: confident dealing with landowners, agents, councils, and contractors.
  4. Knowledge of UK land and planning laws, including the Electricity Act and other relevant regulations.
  5. Negotiation experience: able to secure agreements and resolve land-related issues.
  6. Project coordination: ability to work across multiple sites and disciplines.
  7. A full UK driving licence is essential for site visits and stakeholder meetings.
