Job description

The role

will involve short term travel across the UK depending on client and project sites as required.

Typically, you will undertake the following:

  1. Developing the consenting strategy for major energy infrastructure projects;
  2. Leading on client and partner communications for individual projects;
  3. Leading multidisciplinary teams, alongside an EIA Project Manager, to complete development consent applications;
  4. Working alongside others (Project Director, Project Controller) to manage and maintain the multi-million pound project budgets;
  5. Identifying and escalating key risks, decisions, and issues to the Project Director and client with recommendations for how they can be managed on the projects;
  6. Taking responsibility for the quality of NSIP deliverables ensuring standards are met;
  7. Interfacing with project stakeholders including engineers, land agents, consultation specialists, and lawyers;
  8. Developing relationships with external project stakeholders, such as local planning authorities, the Planning Inspectorate, and key statutory consultees.

About you

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Proven track record of supporting clients to consent large and complex NSIP projects;
  • Excellent knowledge of the NSIP consenting regime, including national policy, the Planning Act, associated legislation, Planning Inspectorate advice, and project case history;
  • Demonstrable client management capabilities with the ability to develop and manage high-level client relationships;
  • An ability to win and deliver new work through existing and new client or partner contacts;
  • Proven experience building, managing, and leading complex multidisciplinary teams;
  • Expertise in developing strong external stakeholder relationships;
  • An eye for detail with the ability to deliver a wide spectrum of consenting documentation to a high standard.
