Job summary

National Energy System Operator (NESO) is seeking a Communications professional to own the Connections publications and guidance portfolio, turning complex energy information into clear customer-facing content. You will manage publication workflows, coordinate SMEs and designers, and ensure accessibility and up-to-date material for customers.

Ideally you have strong editorial and publication management experience in a regulated environment, with excellent writing and stakeholder skills.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing publications, document suites or knowledge resources within a complex, regulated or fast-paced environment.
• Strong publication production management skills, coordinating documents through drafting, review, approval and publication processes.
• Excellent writing, copy editing and proofreading skills for diverse audiences.
• Experience translating complex technical, regulatory or policy information into engaging guidance.
• Excellent organisational skills managing multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills to drive quality improvements.
• Proactive, collaborative approach with high attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the Connections publications and guidance portfolio, ensuring up‑to‑date information.
• Plan, produce and maintain customer-facing guidance with SME input.
• Translate technical/regulatory content into clear, engaging materials for customers.
• Oversee publication workflows from concept to delivery and testing.
• Coordinate design and presentation with internal/external design resources.
• Establish and maintain publication governance and updates in response to changes.
• Build relationships across NESO to source content and improve communications.
