Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Composite Assembly Fitter for a full-time, permanent role in advanced manufacturing. You will join a team delivering high-performance composite components for aerospace, defence, automotive and space sectors.

Responsibilities include adhesive bonding, assembling from drawings, fettling, inspection of jigs and tooling, and maintaining documentation. BPSS check is required; there are clear progression opportunities and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience within a fitting, assembly or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• BPSS check required.
• Desirable experience with composite materials.
• Knowledge of structural adhesive bonding processes.
• Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
• Engineering apprenticeship or relevant technical qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out controlled structural adhesive bonding processes, including surface preparation, adhesive application, curing and validation.
• Assemble composite components in line with engineering drawings, CAD data and manufacturing instructions.
• Perform fettling and finishing activities using approved tools and equipment.
• Inspect and maintain jigs, fixtures and tooling in accordance with company procedures.
• Complete production documentation and job bookings accurately.
• Identify and report assembly, tooling or component issues.
• Follow all Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
• Maintain excellent standards of quality and housekeeping.
