Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Composite Assembly Fitter to join a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing business. You will be responsible for the assembly, bonding and finishing of high-performance composite components to meet customer requirements and stringent quality standards.

The role involves reading engineering drawings, using hand and power tools, and maintaining tooling and documentation while adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years' experience within a fitting, assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out controlled structural adhesive bonding processes, including surface preparation, adhesive application, curing and validation.
  • Assemble composite components in line with engineering drawings, CAD data and manufacturing instructions.
  • Perform fettling and finishing activities using approved tools and equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain jigs, fixtures and tooling in accordance with company procedures.
  • Complete production documentation and job bookings accurately.
  • Identify and report assembly, tooling or component issues.
  • Follow all Health & Safety and COSHH requirements.
  • Maintain excellent standards of quality and housekeeping.

Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–2:30pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Composite Assembly Fitter to join a rapidly growing advanced manufacturing business at the forefront of composite technology. Supporting customers across the aerospace, defence, automotive and space sectors, the company is transforming the production of lightweight composite structures through innovative manufacturing processes and automation.

As a Composite Assembly Fitter, you will be responsible for the assembly, bonding and finishing of high-performance composite components, ensuring products are manufactured to the highest quality standards and delivered in line with customer requirements.

Job Description
  • Carry out controlled structural adhesive bonding processes, including surface preparation, adhesive application, curing and validation.
