Job description

Every safe home starts with strong compliance. Be part of the team that makes it happen.

Join our dedicated Compliance Team and play a key role in delivering fire safety and compliance programmes across our housing portfolio. Working with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, you'll help ensure our homes remain safe, compliant and fit for the future.

From managing fire safety improvement works and compliance contracts to monitoring contractor performance and supporting wider building safety initiatives, you'll help deliver the high standards our customers rely on every day.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful projects, develop your expertise across a range of compliance disciplines, and make a genuine impact on customer safety. You'll join a supportive and collaborative team where your contribution is valued and where your work helps shape safer homes and communities across the South West.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering safety-critical compliance programmes that help keep our customers safe and our homes compliant, well maintained and fit for the future.

As a Compliance Project Surveyor (Level 3), you'll manage compliance contracts and projects across our housing portfolio, with a particular focus on fire safety, water hygiene, lift and lifting equipment safety, and other non-M&E compliance disciplines. You'll oversee programmes from planning through to delivery, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.

Working closely with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders, you'll help drive high standards of compliance performance, manage risk effectively, and support the delivery of fire risk assessment programmes and associated improvement works.

This is a varied and rewarding role where your expertise will have a direct impact on customer safety, operational performance and the quality of the homes we provide.

Please note: Internally this role is known as Compliance Project Surveyor.

Due to current business requirements, we are recruiting exclusively at Compliance Project Surveyor Level 3 for this vacancy.

What we’re looking for:

We're looking for a proactive compliance professional who shares our values and is passionate about delivering safe, compliant homes. You'll bring relevant experience, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Customer Driven

You understand that effective compliance is fundamental to customer safety, helping ensure homes remain safe, compliant and fit for purpose.

Accountability

You take ownership, managing compliance programmes, contracts and contractors effectively while balancing priorities, managing risk and delivering results.

You stay up to date with legislation and best practice, continually building your expertise and identifying opportunities to improve performance and customer outcomes.

Champion Communication

You build strong relationships with colleagues, contractors and customers, communicating clearly and working collaboratively to achieve the best outcomes.

You’ll bring:
Level 3
  • A degree, HND or extensive relevant experience in Construction, Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience of compliance management within a social housing environment, including managing compliance contracts and projects through to successful completion.
  • Proven experience of budget management, contractor performance management, procurement and delivering projects from inception through to completion.
  • Strong technical expertise in compliance management, with the ability to influence stakeholders, contribute to service improvements, support the development of policies and procedures, and coach or support less experienced colleagues.
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive environment where colleagues and customers are treated with fairness, dignity and respect.

For further information on the role, please review the job description attached to the advert.
