Onward Homes in Accrington is hiring a Compliance Coordinator - Domestic Heating & Hot Water on a permanent basis. The role supports the team with database management, information collation, regular reporting, and performance monitoring.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in property management and compliance, with strong IT skills and a methodical, detail-oriented approach. A customer-focused attitude and good communication are essential.

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent qualification/experience.
  • Experience in property management, maintenance and planned works.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining Records – keep up to date records of proposed/completed compliance work for domestic heating and hot water.
  • Certification and remedial action – reconcile certificates/reports and flag non-compliances or additional work.
  • Information analysis – use systems to analyse information for compliance programmes and performance.
  • System management – manage systems to deliver compliance works, create work orders, budgets, payments.
  • Audit support – provide accurate information for internal and external audits.

Job description

The Compliance Coordinator - Domestic Heating & Hot Water role, based in Accrington and offering £31,350 per annum on a full-time basis, sits within Onward’s operations. You will oversee administrative duties tied to statutory compliance for heating systems, managing schedules, certifications, and records. Coordinating with engineers and contractors, you will ensure all work meets regulatory standards and internal policies. Your attention to detail will be vital in tracking inspections and resolving discrepancies. Strong organisational skills and proficiency with computer systems are essential for this position. The company provides 40 days of paid holiday annually, a pension scheme with matched contributions up to 10%, and access to a health cash plan.

About the role

We are seeking a Compliance Coordinator - Domestic Heating & Hot Water to join our Compliance team on a permanent basis based in Accrington. The purpose of the role is to support the Domestic Heating and hot water team in management of databases, collation of information, providing regular reports and performance management and monitoring.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintaining Records – Support the Domestic Heating and Hot water Compliance Team in ensuring accurate and up to date records of proposed and completed compliance work and finance purposes are maintained and current in relation to all domestic heating and hot water and associated risks.
  • Certification and Remedial Action – Ensure associated compliance related works orders, certificates/reports are reconciled, recorded and checked and that non‑compliances and additional/remedial work are identified to the relevant colleague.
  • Information Analysis – Utilise established and future systems and assist in their development to enable timely and accurate analyse of information for associated Compliance programmes and the performance of the service and prepare and validate relevant reports as required.
  • System Management and Administration – Ensure effective management of systems for delivery of relevant compliance works, administer the systems to ensure the creation of work orders, budgets, payments etc. as required.
  • Internal and External Audit Support – Provide accurate, up to date and concise information for internal and external audits as and when required.
Skills / Experience

Essential: Experience of performance management of planned work and the information needed to support their delivery.

Essential: Knowledge and understanding of property management, maintenance, and planned work.

Essential: Experience of working in a customer focused environment.

Essential: A demonstrable methodical approach to work, with sound organisational skills, within a team environment but also an ability to work on your own.

Essential: High quality communication skills (both written and verbal).

Essential: IT skills particularly experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, housing Asset Management Systems and database systems.

Desirable: Knowledge of core Housing Systems, Business Planning and Asset Management systems.

Desirable: Knowledge of IT with regard to database systems, core Housing Management, Finance and Asset Management systems.

Qualifications

Essential: Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent qualification/ experience.

Desirable: Level 2 VRQ Award in Gas Safety Awareness in Social Housing.

Desirable: Level 2 VRQ Award in Asset and Building Compliance Awareness.
