Job summary

The Complex Care Project Worker role at Ty Anwen in Bedwas, Caerphilly is a 24-hour-per-week position. You will work across Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, focusing on organising activities and engagement with residents to meet their interests.

Recent examples include cinema trips, beach outings, a reggae night, and other events to spark participation and enjoyment. You will empower residents on their recovery journey as part of a dedicated team, helping to develop, implement and review

Qualifications

  • Must have manual driving licence.
  • IT literacy required.
  • GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Experience working as part of a team.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals with mental health or complex care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to live independently within a care setting.
  • Support, prompting and administering medication.
  • Engagement in social activities.
  • Complete and update support plans, risk assessments and risk management plans.
  • Undertake relevant training for the role.
  • Liaise with Social Services, Benefits Agencies, Housing department and other relevant agencies.
  • Organise group activities with the individuals at Ty Anwen or in the community.
  • Provide emotional support to the individuals.

About The Service

Tŷ Anwen is a residential complex care and specialist mental health service in Bedwas, Caerphilly, supporting up to 16 individuals living with serious and enduring mental illness, brain injury or other complex care needs.

Our team works to a recovery-focused model of care, offering clear therapeutic boundaries and outcome-driven support that builds independence and confidence.

About The Role

This a specific role within our team at Ty Anwen. Working 24 hours per week, over three shifts, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, you’ll be a Complex Care Project Worker, but will be responsible specifically for organising activities and engagement with the residents too.

Recent examples of events have included cinema trips, beach trips, a reggae themed night, so you can get creative and really work to provide opportunities that meet the interests of the residents.

As a Complex Care Project Worker, you will play a key role in empowering and supporting individuals on their recovery journey. Working as part of a dedicated team, you’ll help to develop, implement and review high-quality, person-centred care and support plans that reflect each individual’s needs, preferences and aspirations.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting individuals to live independently within a care setting.

  • Undertake relevant training for the role.

Skills And Experience Needed
  • Manual driving licence essential – for driving residents to events and .
  • I.T. literacy
  • GCSE Grade C or above in Maths & English (or equivalent)
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience, or relevant knowledge of, working with individuals with mental health or complex care needs.
Pay, Shifts And Benefits

Our service runs 24/7 so you’ll be covering days, evenings, weekends and wakeful nights.

  • £14.61 per hour
  • Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift.
  • Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed
