Job summary

Codi Group is seeking a dedicated Care Worker for Dan y Bryn in Ynysmeudwy, near Pontardawe. This 36-hour, full-time role operates on a rolling two-week rota, including day, evening and night shifts with weekend work required. Reliable transport is essential.

You will support residents to live as fully as possible, provide personal care and emotional support, administer medication, and help residents stay active through engaging activities. Training and DBS support are provided.

Qualifications

  • Experience with people or customers and working in a team is important.
  • Basic literacy, numeracy and IT skills are required.
  • Full training and support are provided.

About The Role

Dan y Bryn is set in beautiful landscaped surroundings in the small village of Ynysmeudwy, on the outskirts of Pontardawe. We’re known for our excellent reputation as a quality and valued care provider, where the needs of our residents are always at the heart of what we do.

As a Care Worker, you’ll be at the heart of daily life for our residents, assisting them to live their lives to the fullest and ensuring they feel valued, safe, and supported.

This is a 36 hour, full time position based on a rolling 2 week rota, to include:

  • Day, evening & night shifts
  • Weekend work required
  • Reliable transport is essential (limited bus services at weekends)
Duties Will Include
  • Promoting the health and wellbeing of residents
  • Providing personal care and emotional support
  • Administering medication
  • Supporting residents to engage in stimulating activities
  • Using a person-centred approach to involve residents in their care
  • Digital recording
Skills And Experience Needed

A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are;

  • Experience working with people or customers and as part of a team
  • Literacy, numeracy and IT skills

Pay And Benefits
  • £25,178 FTE (£13.45 per hour)
  • Sleep-in rate: £62.64 per 8 hour shift - approx. 1 per week
  • Waking night rate: 20% Enhancement from 11pm to 7am
  • Enhanced DBS which we will pay for
  • Social Care Wales registration is fully reimbursed
