Job summary

Total Community Care Limited is looking for a motivated, friendly and chatty care/support worker to provide high-quality care and companionship to a gentleman living at home with his daughter. The role covers daytime and wake night shifts, helping with personal care and medication, plus light household tasks.

You will support independence, accompany him to social outings and community activities, and work as part of a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Reliability, caring and sociable disposition are essential.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and complex care would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 12-hour daytime support and wake night support.
• Offer companionship, conversation and reassurance.
• Assist with medication and personal care.
• Provide tracheostomy care as needed.
• Promote independence and encourage the gentleman's choices.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a motivated, friendly and chatty care/support worker to provide high-quality care and companionship to a gentleman who lives at home with his daughter.

This is a rewarding role for someone who is passionate about supporting individuals to live as independently and positively as possible.

The role includes:

• Providing 12-hour daytime support and wake night support

• Providing companionship, conversation and reassurance

• Supporting with medication

• Assisting with personal care

• Providing tracheostomy (trachy) care

• Promoting and encouraging independence

• Supporting him to maintain his social life and enjoy outings

• Accompanying him when spending time with friends and getting out into the community

• Helping with some light household tasks

Qualifications

What you’ll need:

• We're looking for someone who is reliable, caring, motivated and social.

  You should enjoy building a genuine rapport with the person you support and be able to encourage him to make his own choices and remain as independent as possible.

  Experience with tracheostomy care and complex care would be desirable, along with a willingness to work as part of a supportive team.

  If you're a compassionate person who enjoys making a real difference and would like to support someone to live life on their own terms, we'd love to hear from you.

• A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
