Job summary

Animal Trust in Failsworth is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to support both clients and clinical staff. You will welcome clients and their pets for appointments, manage diaries, handle payments and insurance, and ensure a clean, welcoming reception area.

The role requires experience in medical/veterinary reception, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Shifts run 07:45–19:00 with 10 or 5 hour blocks, including 1 in 4 Saturdays, and 5.6 weeks of annual leave.

Qualifications

• Experience of working on a medical or veterinary reception is required.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Empathy, understanding and communication are important in difficult situations.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming clients and their pets for appointments, maintaining professionalism.
• Answering telephone calls and client queries.
• Handling medications prepared by the veterinary surgeon and handing to clients.
• Maintain reception, waiting area and consultation rooms to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Take payments, register new clients and address client concerns.
• Assist with diary management and finance including debt and insurance.
• Organise and restock the practice and ensure health and safety procedures.
