Job summary

Vets for Pets Sutton Coldfield is recruiting an experienced Veterinary Care Assistant for a 12-month fixed-term maternity cover. You will support veterinary surgeons and the nursing team, caring for animals and helping maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.

Role involves hospital care, administration tasks, and occasional reception duties. Prior veterinary experience is desirable; a busy, collaborative team environment awaits with flexible shifts (8am-5pm or 10am-7pm) and no weekends.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary practice or animal care setting is desirable.
• Able to work across clinical and client-facing areas.
• Comfortable working as part of a busy team.
• Committed to high standard of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Care for hospitalised patients and assist nursing team.
• Clean and prepare clinical areas; safely handle animals.
• Restock and maintain equipment; support wider practice team.
• Assist reception with client/pet enquiries, appointments, and payments.
