Job summary

Sense is a leading disability charity supporting three adults with multi-sensory impairments to live in their own homes. Each person has goals and preferences, and the team works to respect choices and promote independence.

We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic support worker for our Mexborough service on a 9-month fixed-term contract, 37.5 hours per week, on-site. No prior experience required, just a commitment to dignity and learning.

Qualifications

• Experience with disabled people is beneficial but not essential.
• Values-driven approach with dignity and respect for individuals.
• Willingness to learn and support independence and choice.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support reflecting individual needs and aspirations.
• Help people make informed choices and have greater daily control.
• Build meaningful relationships by understanding communication preferences and interests.
• Identify and remove barriers to participation in everyday life.
• Support engagement in interests, relationships, and community activities.
• Assist with appointments, activities, and trips of choice.
• Encourage independence while respecting individual support needs and decisions.
• Collaborate with families and colleagues to promote consistency and wellbeing.
