Job summary

Sense is seeking a caring and committed support worker to join our team at the supported living service in Mexborough, South Yorkshire. This is a 9 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave, working 37.5 hours per week across a variety of shifts.

You will support three adults with multi-sensory impairments and complex needs, helping them live the lives they choose with dignity and independence. No prior experience required, but values and empathy are essential.

Qualifications

• Values dignity, respect and person-centred care.
• Willing to learn and adapt to individual needs.
• Experience with disabled people is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support reflecting each person's needs, preferences and aspirations.
• Support people to make informed choices and maintain greater control over daily life.
• Build meaningful relationships and understand communication preferences.
• Identify and remove barriers to participation in everyday life and community activities.
• Help people enjoy interests, maintain relationships and try new experiences.
• Assist with appointments and outings while promoting independence.
• Respect each person's decisions and support needs in a collaborative way.
• Work with families and colleagues to ensure consistent, dignified care.
