Job summary

Sugarman Health and Wellbeing is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join a specialist 2:1 package, supporting a young adult with Autism, learning disabilities and broader needs in the family home and community. You’ll help with daily activities, safety, and building independence in a supportive setting.

Role includes community access, engagement in hobbies, and collaboration with family members. Full UK driving licence and clear communication are essential; training and ongoing guidance are

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' care experience.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing person-centred support in the family home and community settings.
• Supporting community access, social activities, appointments and leisure pursuits.
• Building positive and trusting relationships through a consistent approach.
• Supporting communication using an iPad, letter board and non-verbal communication methods.
• Promoting independence and encouraging participation in everyday activities.
• Supporting emotional regulation and implementing positive behaviour support strategies.
• Following epilepsy care plans and emergency medication protocols following training and competency sign-off.
