Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join a SEND school in Rochdale, supporting pupils with complex needs in a dedicated classroom.

The role focuses on learning support, communication, personal development and independence, while managing challenging behaviour. It requires recent SEND experience and an Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply. You will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide consistent, nurturing support.

Qualifications

• Have recent experience supporting children or young people in a SEND school or specialist provision
• Have experience supporting pupils with complex SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
• Be confident working in high-needs environments
• Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one
• Provide a full employment and education history with references
• Have the legal right to work in the UK
