Trinity Medical Centre (South Shields) is seeking an experienced phlebotomist to join our GP practice team. You will provide high-quality phlebotomy services for patients aged 15 and above in a busy, patient-centred environment.

The ideal candidate will have clinical experience, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to infection control and accurate specimen labelling, ensuring safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• Competency in phlebotomy with up-to-date training.
• Ability to communicate messages and instructions accurately to colleagues and patients.
• Experience communicating with the Multidisciplinary team, patients, carers and visitors.
• Understanding of infection control and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture on adults and label samples accurately.
• Update patient records on EMIS and dispatch specimens.
• Maintain infection prevention standards and cleanliness of the phlebotomy area.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses, and admin staff to ensure timely service.
• Prioritise workload while providing compassionate patient care.
