Job summary

Cambridge Medical Group are seeking a Phlebotomist to join our GP practice in Middlesbrough and surrounding areas. You will perform venepuncture for the entitled patient population, ensuring accurate labelling and timely dispatch of specimens.

The role requires an accredited phlebotomy qualification and up-to-date training, with the ability to work independently and as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Accredited phlebotomy qualification or equivalent competency-based training.
• Evidence of up-to-date training in phlebotomy.
• Competency in performing venepuncture and patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Perform venepuncture in accordance with clinical guidance and infection control standards.
• Accurately label, record, and prepare samples for laboratory dispatch.
• Update patient records on SystmOne.
• Maintain phlebotomy area, equipment and stock.
• Collaborate with GPs, nurses and admin staff to deliver efficient service.
