Job summary

GCIL in Maryhill is seeking a friendly Personal Assistant to support John in his daily living and community activities. The role focuses on reliable, respectful companionship, helping maintain routines and independence in a sociable environment.

You will assist with household tasks, transport, meals, and attending appointments, while promoting John's safety and wellbeing. Flexible hours are available, with 27 hours per week at £14 per hour in the Maryhill area.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting someone with a learning disability and/or autism is beneficial but not essential.
• An interest in music or football may help build a connection with John.
• 27 hours per week in Maryhill (G20 area); rate: £14 per hour; regular hours to be agreed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and tidy home.
• Assist with budgeting and day-to-day tasks.
• Plan, prepare and cook healthy meals.
• Accompany to appointments and community activities.
• Provide personal care and hygiene support.
• Encourage healthy lifestyle and exercise.
• Support use of public transport and community activities.
• Maintain routines and adapt to changes.
• Record keeping and updates for the support network.
