Job summary

Pembrokeshire Direct Payments is seeking a caring and reliable Personal Assistant to support a child in accessing the community and attending social and leisure activities. This role focuses on promoting independence, communication and wellbeing.

You will provide one-to-one support at home and in the community, helping the child participate in activities while keeping them safe. Experience with children and a compassionate approach are important.

Responsibilities

• Accompany the child to activities, outings and places they would like to go.
• Support participation in social, recreational and leisure activities.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
• Ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing at all times.
• Provide reassurance and emotional support when needed.
• Assist with planning enjoyable and age-appropriate activities.
• Support with transport and travel to and from activities where required.
• Maintain clear communication with parents/carers regarding outings and progress.
• Build a positive, trusting and professional relationship with the child and family.
