Job summary

Pembrokeshire Direct Payments is seeking a Personal Assistant to support a recipient in Pembrokeshire with care needs. The role involves flexible hours to meet care requirements and to help the client maintain independence and decision-making in their care.

You will support medical appointments, daily living activities, companionship and safeguarding as part of a supportive home care team under direct payments arrangements.

Qualifications

• Able to work flexibly to meet care needs.
• Support client to make their own decisions and maintain independence.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Direct Payments recipient and mother with medical appointments.
• Develop life skills such as cooking and cleaning.
• Assist with eating meals prepared together.
• Provide mum with respite for chores and errands.
• Support Personal Care needs including washing and toileting.
• Encourage independence and social interaction for the employer.
• Enable interaction in the community and attend activities of interest.
• Assist with shopping and other activities.
• Help develop independent living skills and provide companionship at home.
• Encourage attendance at appointments and safeguard appropriately.
• Be mindful of safeguarding and report concerns to the relevant authority.
• Contact GP, Social Worker or Local Authority if medical assistance is needed.
