NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a dedicated healthcare support worker to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will assist with admissions, discharges, specimen collection and routine tasks to maintain ward hygiene and safety.

Role involves unsupervised work in some contexts and participation in personal development planning. A healthcare qualification (SVQ III) or equivalent is required, with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Formación

• SVQ III in healthcare or equivalent experience in caring environment.
• Ability to work with people as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks in a busy ward.

Responsabilidades

• Carry out assigned tasks to deliver and support direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Assist in patient admission, transfer and discharge processes.
• Assist in collection of routine specimens and monitoring of vital signs.
• Maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward environment.
• Support rehabilitation and mobility with the multidisciplinary team.
• Record observations accurately and report changes to staff.
• Perform pre-use equipment checks and prepare trolleys as per procedures.
