Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join a multidisciplinary team and support registered nurses in delivering high quality patient care. You will work unsupervised at times and perform hygiene, order and safety tasks within the ward environment.

This fixed term role lasts 18 months with eligibility for secondment if already employed, and includes opportunities to contribute to a busy, compassionate healthcare setting across wards depending on patient needs.

Qualifications

• SVQ III in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience in a caring environment

Responsibilities

• Carry out assigned tasks to deliver and support direct patient care under the direction of a registered nurse
• Assist in the preparation of patients for procedures
• Assist with admission, transfer and discharge of patients
• Assist in the collection of routine urine/blood specimens
