Job summary

HC-One Ltd. is seeking a full-time Kitchen Assistant to work 38.5 hours weekly on a 3 on/3 off shift in dementia, nursing, residential and specialist care homes. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals, support dietary needs, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen.

You will receive full training and benefit from a comprehensive package including pension, annual leave, enhanced DBS, uniform, and wellbeing and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to train toward it.
• Care for Residents with patience and kindness.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serving meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitoring and recording food storage temperatures.
• Supporting stock rotation and proper storage of ingredients.
• Training new team members on safe kitchen practices.
• Washing up and keeping the kitchen spotless.
