Job summary

Wood Care Group in Huddersfield is seeking a kind, reliable Kitchen Assistant to help prepare meals sourced via Apetito, contributing to residents' wellbeing and daily enjoyment. You will maintain high kitchen standards and support busy meal preparation, with a focus on care, compassion and clear communication.

Experience in a care home is desirable but not essential; candidates should be organised, flexible to shifts, and able to work well with staff and residents.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a care home environment is desirable but not essential.
• Experience of working in a busy kitchen environment.
• A committed and organised approach.
• A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Attend staff meetings.
• Maintain personal and professional development including training and supervision of staff.
• Safeguarding responsibilities and promoting resident safety, dignity and choice.
• Follow safeguarding and whistleblowing policies at all times.
• Complete training as determined by the home.
