Job summary

HC-One Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our dementia, nursing and specialist care homes across the UK. You will help prepare and serve nutritious meals, keep the kitchen clean, monitor storage temperatures and support stock rotation, all while delivering kindness to Residents.

With an NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation (or willingness to work towards it) and strong organisational skills, you’ll follow recipes, record information accurately and help new colleagues adapt.

Qualifications

• NVQ2 in Catering or Food Preparation or willingness to work towards it.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow recipes and record information accurately.
• Kindness and respectful communication with Residents.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with meal preparation under the direction of the Chef or Cook.
• Serving meals with warmth and respect in a timely and friendly manner.
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including equipment and surfaces.
• Monitoring and recording food storage temperatures.
• Supporting stock rotation and ensuring ingredients are properly stored.
• Showing new team members how to safely use kitchen equipment.
• Washing up and keeping the kitchen spotless.
