Job summary

Hill Care is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join our team for a 22.5-hour week. You will assist the cook with meal preparation, cooking and serving for residents, including special dietary needs. Full training will be provided. Basic Food Hygiene, good communication, and a Police Check with POVA verification are required.

Experience in a care setting is advantageous. The role involves maintaining hygiene, safe food handling and teamwork within a supportive care home environment.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Good communication and teamwork expected.
• Satisfactory Police Check and POVA List verification where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Participate in staff and client meetings as required.
• Maintain and improve kitchen knowledge and competence.
• Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as required.
• Ensure kitchen and dining areas meet statutory Health and Safety standards.
