Job summary

Hill Care is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support meal preparation, cooking and service for residents. You will follow special dietary needs such as soft diets and diabetic meals, ensuring high standards and safe food handling. Full training will be provided for the role.

Ideal candidates will have Basic Food Hygiene, good communication, team-oriented mindset, and will pass a Police Check/POVA screening where required. Experience in care settings is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Required).
• Good communication skills (Required).
• Team player (Required).
• Satisfactory Police Check and POVA List check where applicable (Required).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation, cooking and serving of meals.
• Attend staff and client meetings as required and engage in training.
• Maintain and improve professional knowledge; attend mandatory training days/courses.
• Wash up after meals and ensure kitchen and dining areas are cleaned and stock is stored properly.
• Follow Health and Safety standards; report illnesses or accidents to the Home Manager.
• Promote the Care Centre's safety, confidentiality and security; adhere to policies.
