Job summary

Agincare is seeking a Home Care Assistant in Newton Abbot and surrounding areas. You will support clients with daily routines, personal care, meals, and companionship in their own homes, delivering respectful, person-centred care.

No prior care experience is required; we’ll train you with funded qualifications up to QCF level 5. A full UK driving licence and flexible weekend work are essential. Mileage is paid at 32p per mile, with access to a pension and on‑demand pay.

Qualifications

• No previous care experience required; attitude and caring nature can be taught.
• You’ll bring a warm, caring and compassionate approach to supporting others.
• Strong people skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• A supportive, professional and team-focused mindset.
• A minimum of 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK (no visa sponsorship).
• A full UK driving licence.
• Flexibility to work alternating weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support people with daily routines, including household tasks and personal care.
• Help with shopping, preparing nutritious meals and making a comforting cup of tea.
• Provide companionship, a listening ear and friendly conversation.
• Help with medication as needed.
