Co-op is seeking Funeral Service Crew in Torquay to collect the deceased, transport funeral vehicles, and support families with dignity and care. Training is provided and a meaningful role contributing to communities.

You will need a full UK manual driving licence, the ability to perform physical tasks, good IT skills, and a compassionate approach. Competitive benefits are offered with flexible shifts.

Qualifications

• Must hold a full UK manual driving licence.
• Ability to perform physical aspects of the role including manual lifting; training and equipment provided.
• Good IT skills and ability to use various devices and learning new apps.
• Ability to stay calm and compassionate in emotional situations with customers.
• Strong attention to detail and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

• Collect the deceased from various locations in a professional and empathetic manner.
• Bear coffins on funeral day and drive funeral vehicles.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and vehicles.
• Prepare coffins and engrave name plates.
• Prepare the deceased for viewings and the funeral.
• Maintain client management applications and keep records updated.
• Safely lift, carry and move coffins following safety guidance.
